Since first picking up a brush nearly 30 years ago, Pat Wright has been concentrating her subject matter to only few themes. One of those themes is her life in Chicago’s Pilsen Community. The exhibition includes paintings of the people, places and events that Wright has known while living in Pilsen for nearly 50 years. Her watercolor paintings are an extension of her knowledge of urban planning and Chicago neighborhoods. Wright worked as a community planner throughout the Chicago area for 40 years, and until her retirement in 2004, was the Director of the Voorhees Neighborhood Center in the College of urban Planning and Public Affairs at the University of Illinois Chicago. The exhibition will run from May 4th through June 29th at Prospectus Art Gallery, 1210 W. 18th St.
