Día de la Mujer Latina (DLM) —a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to eliminating health disparities within the Latino community in 39 states, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic— and the Chicago-based multicultural marketing firm Imagen Marketing Consultants are joining forces to produce Chicago Latina Expo 2018. Featuring seminars, workshops, a marketplace, complimentary health screenings, cooking demos with some of the country’s most renowned Latino chefs, and vendors representing the health, beauty and fashion industries, the Expo will be held Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday June 3rd at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago. Doors open at 9 am both days. The event officially kicks off Friday, June 1st with Gourmet Mexico, a culinary celebration of Mexico’s diverse cuisine featuring some of that country’s top chefs. Co-presented by Taste and Travel of Mexico, the funds raised by the event will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Viva en Forma organizations. The Gourmet Mexico Culinary Celebration will take place at Latinicity, 108 N. State St., 3rd Floor. Doors open at 6 pm.

Some of the features in the Expo include:

• Main stage: Featuring some of the most respected names, speakers, entertainers and fashion designers throughout the day.

• Seminars and workshops: Empowering and informational forums addressing Latina issues.

• Literary Café: On-site bookstore for book signings and book sales by celebrity authors. National nutritionist Sylvia Melendez Klinger will be debuting her new pocket guide book, The Little Book of Simple Eating here.

• Tech Café: Area where attendees can check their e-mails, surf the web, download files and learn about the latest technology.
