City to Deploy 100 Police Officers to Neighborhoods

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) Superintendent Eddie Johnson today announced that 87 new police officers have been deployed to their district assignments as part of the hiring plan to add nearly 1,000 more officers. After successfully completing their training at the Academy and initial field training, 87 new Chicago Police officers are now being sent to their first detail. Since January of 2018, 858 PPO’s have been deployed to their district assignments. The breakdown of the city-wide deployment is below:

The City is now accepting applications for the next Police Entry Exam through October 1st. Candidates can register online to take the Police Entry Exam at: www.chicagopolice.org/bethechange.
