Latino elected, business and community leaders came together at the Union League Club to announce the formation of the Latino Leadership Council (LLC), Fuerza. Stronger, Together. The LLC is a coordinated effort to increase Latino power and representation in the public and private sectors. The group will largely work to reach parity for Latinos in all centers of influence, give the community a clear, unified voice and grow the culture of political fundraising and giving amongst the professional and business sectors while educating the public as to the ongoing successes, talents and contributions of Latinos. The council is made up of a number of individuals with varying political philosophies all united by one basic belief: Latinos are grossly underrepresented in positions of leadership and need to unify under one single voice. A few of the council members include:

Hon. Luis Gutierrez
Hon. Jesus “Chuy” Garcia
State Rep.-Elect Aaron Ortiz
Commissioner-Elect Alma Anaya
Juan Ochoa
Jesse Ruiz
Manuel Flores
Teresa Reyes

The LLC will support elected officials, candidates and causes that will most effectively advance the foundational elements of the mission objectives: to grow the culture of political giving among the business and professional sector; to empower the Latino/a Community by giving it a clear, unified voice; and to educate the public as to the successes, talents and contributions of Latinos in America.
