Our Revolution Chicago is an organization that supports a new generation of progressive leaders and recently announced their endorsements for 13 aldermanic candidates in the Chicago municipal elections. The endorsed candidates are Sue Garza (10th Ward), Tanya Patiño (14th Ward), Rafa Yáñez (15th Ward), Jeanette Taylor (20th Ward), Mike Rodríguez (22nd Ward), Hilario Dominguez (25th Ward), Jessica Gutiérrez (30th Ward), Carlos Rosa (35th Ward), Robert Murphy (39th Ward), John Arena (45th Ward), Erika Wozniak Franc(46th Ward), Matt Martin (47th Ward), and Maria Hadden (49th Ward). “These candidates reflect the diverse backgrounds which Chicago residents share throughout the city. They represent the future of City Council–one which is honest, transparent and accountable–and contrast sharply wit recently incriminated alderman who have embroiled Chicago in scandal and corruption” said Clem Balanoff, chair of Our Revolution Chicago. “The endorsed candidates stand for policies which are seriously needed in Chicago including: a living wage, rent control, access to clean lead free water, fully funded public education, ethics and campaign financing reform. All have endorsed the National Our Revolution platform.  Our Revolution Chicago looks forward to working with the candidates to ensure their election to City Council. This will include social media outreach to our database of over 30,000 Chicago voters, financial assistance in some cases and volunteering in campaigns” continued Balanoff.
