Grant Park Music Festival Presents ‘The Mambo Kings: Hot Latin Nights’

Grant Park Music Festival heats up this summer with The Mambo Kings: Hot Latin Nights, where The Mambo Kings and the Grant Park Orchestra bring Tito Puento’s burning Afro-Cuban jazz to the stage, along with the rhythmic playfulness of American jazz great Dave Brubeck, the pop strains of The Beatles, and Cuban Overture by Gershwin. This concert is led by Artistic Conductor and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar, on Wednesday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. The open rehearsal of The Mambo Kings: Hot Latin Nights will take place on Wednesday, August 7 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in Millennium Park. Audiences are welcome to sit in the Pavilion Seating Bowl during rehearsal, and Festival docents will be on site to talk about the program during rehearsal breaks.
