Illinois HIV Care Connect Encourages All Young People to Take the Y.O.U.T.H. Quiz

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Health

In an effort to encourage HIV testing and treatment among Illinois youth, Illinois HIV Care Connect introduced the confidential Y.O.U.T.H. Quiz, with a version for young people living with HIV and a version for young people who are HIV-negative. Those taking the quiz will be directed to educational content to learn more and will earn a chance to win a $25 VISA gift card. All young people, whether they are living with HIV or not, are encouraged to take the quiz. Y.O.U.T.H. stands for Youth Overcoming Undetected and Treatable HIV. Once HIV is detected through a simple blood test, the virus can be successfully treated with anti-HIV medications. The Y.O.U.T.H. Quiz is the first step in Illinois HIV Care Connect’s HIV and Youth Campaign, which is designed to help Illinois youth to understand how HIV is transmitted from one person to another and how the virus can be successfully treated with medications and staying in care.
