With City Council fast approaching a series of debates and votes on the 2020 Chicago budget, eight progressive aldermen associated with the political organization United Working Families announced their plans to hold budget town hall meetings across the city. In addition to progressive revenue options, the aldermen have also made a series of spending recommendations based on their campaign pledges–including creating a dedicated revenue stream for affordable housing and homelessness, investing in the city’s public mental health clinics, and divesting from failed policing and developers. The budget town hall meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

Thursday, November 14th – Albany Park
