City Colleges of Chicago Foundation hosted its second annual Seven Strong benefit Thursday, Nov. 14 at the Geraghty, 2520 S. Hoyne Ave. More than 350 attendees, including some of Chicago’s most prominent business and political leaders, attended the event, which raised more than $900,000 and captured the vigorous spirit of City Colleges of Chicago with inspirational student stories, lively music, mascots and more. The purpose of the event was to raise funds to support three important pillars of the Foundation’s work: to fund student scholarships, create and develop innovative programs, and support holistic student services. The Harold Washington College Jazz Band provided live music and Kennedy-King College’s Washburne Culinary & Hospitality Institute offered hors d’oeuvres at a demonstration station.
