Chicago Cares’ community partners on the South and West Sides organized their communities in this difficult moment as the city continues to protest police brutality. To support their work, Chicago Cares organized a massive supply drive at five drop-off locations in the city and suburbs. At least six box trucks filled with vital resources donated by community members were dispatched on Saturday to neighborhoods where basic necessities were not accessible due to store closures. Collectively over 750 boxes of groceries and essential items were donated to Chicago Cares’ nonprofit partners. The nonprofit organizations and neighborhoods that were community resource efforts and received donations on Saturday included:

• Brightstar Community Outreach in Bronzeville

• BUILD, Inc. in Austin

• Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation in Auburn Gresham

• Imagine Englewood If in Englewood

• Institute for Nonviolence Chicago in Austin

• Logan Square Neighborhood Association in Hermosa

• Stone Temple in North Lawndale

• Teamwork Englewood in Englewood
