HACIA, St. Augustine College to Offer Free Pre-Apprenticeship Programs

HACIA (The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association) and St. Augustine College’s Institute for Workforce Education, offer the following Free Pre-Apprenticeship Programs, designed to help participants prepare for entrance into apprenticeship programs in the construction trades and to launch an exciting and rewarding career. The programs, which include OSHA, First Aid/CPR, and industry certifications, will be offered at St. Augustine College’s Aurora location: 841 N. Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois.

PROGRAMS:

Ø  Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship: This program prepares participants to successfully perform the tasks of an Entry Level Electrical Trades Member.

The program duration is 272 hours- 23 weeks- Monday / Tuesday/ Wednesday.

Ø  Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship: This program prepares participants to successfully perform the tasks required of an Entry Level Construction Craft Member, focused on carpentry.

The program duration is 300 hours – 25 weeks – Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday.

REQUIREMENTS:

Ø  Be at least 18 years old – Have a GED or high School Diploma – Have a valid Driver’s License – pass a drug test screening
