Cook County Commissioner Alma E. Anaya and the 7th District Census Coalition, which includes over 40 different organizations, partners, and elected officials on the Southwest Side of Chicago and suburbs, launched the second Census Action Week to address some of the lowest response rates in Cook County and in the State of Illinois. The initiative is a component of a Coalition-wide effort to prepare Census-focused initiatives in hard-to-count tracts. The Census Action Week will take place on Thursday, Aug. 6th, 2020 in the Little Village community with facemasks distribution at Madero Middle School at 11am. Phone banking will take place throughout the day and canvas will start at 11am. The next event will take place on Friday, Aug. 7th, 2020 in Brighton Park at the Walgreens Parking Lot on 47th St., and Western Ave., at 10am., followed by canvass in the McKinley Park neighborhood at 2pm meeting at the McKinley Park Fieldhouse.
