Former Illinois State Senator Iris Y. Martinez was sworn in on Tuesday as the 6th Clerk of the Circuit Court for Cook County and the first Latina to hold that position.  The swearing in was held at the 10th floor lobby of the Daley Center 50 W. Washington where only 40 people were allowed to attend and social distancing was enforced.  Clerk of the Circuit Court Iris Y. Martinez started her new job immediately after being sworn in.
