YMCA of Metro Chicago Offers Fun Learning Options for Families this Holiday

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is offering local families a safe place for their children to learn, have fun, and grow during the upcoming winter school break. While the school experience has been markedly different for most students this year due to the pandemic, school holidays remain. With the winter break just around the corner, parents going to work or working from home still need child care options.  The Y’s Winter Break Camp is available at 13 locations across the city and the suburbs to support parents and restore a sense of normalcy for children from kindergarten through eighth grade. Students can get a stimulating fun break and some much-needed social interaction in a safe and supervised environment.

Parents can drop off their kids from 7 am to 6 pm starting December 21 until January 5, 2021, in some locations. Camps will NOT run Christmas Eve (except at Camp Duncan), Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day. City locations include McCormick Y in Humboldt Park, the Rauner Family Y in Little Village, South Side Y, Irving Park Y, and Lake View Y. Suburban sites include Crystal Lake, Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Lake Zurich, Naperville, Palatine, and Volo. Prices depend on location and start at $150 for three days. Capacity is limited to comply with social distancing requirements and state regulations and vacancies will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Financial assistance is available in certain situations. For more details, visit the membership desk at your local Y or call Member Services at 773-905-5115 (M-F: 8 am -7 pm). To register, go to ymcachicago.org/wintercamp.
