A Berwyn Development Corporation (BDC) philanthropic grant was awarded to the Pav YMCA for their Senior Food Service Drive Thru Program in September 2020. The BDC philanthropic grant helped fund over 12,000 shelf-stable food kits and over 6,800 senior meals served through delivery or curbside pickup in Berwyn and surrounding communities.  Incorporated in 1970, the Pav YMCA (YMCA of Berwyn-Cicero Inc.) exists to strengthen the community by working side-by-side with neighbors every day. Their very holistic approach ensures that everyone, regardless of age, income, or background has the opportunity to grow and thrive. Pav YMCA has worked in partnership with Age Options and the Greater Chicago Food Depository to ensure this vulnerable population’s food supply is not impacted during this time. Anyone 60 years in age and over that resides in Cook County is offered bi-weekly shelf stable meal packages through these partnerships.
