As families throughout Chicagoland look to bring a sense of normalcy to their summertime plans, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago is getting ready to give away free summer camp to one lucky Chicagoland youth. Families are encouraged to participate in the 2021 Summer Camp Sweepstakes by filling out a brief entry form on the Y’s website up to once per day through Monday, March 8. The sweepstakes is open to YMCA members and nonmembers alike. The Y will take care of the winning family’s summer camp needs, offering several weeks’ worth of camp free of charge. The winner can choose between dozens of Y camp options, which include In-Person Day Camp, In-Person Specialty Camp, and Online Specialty Camp. The Y’s In-Person Day Camps provide a traditional day camp experience with organized educational and recreational activities that develop self-confidence, character, and teamwork skills. Meanwhile, the Y’s wide variety of In-Person Specialty Camps let kids discover new interests, including but not limited to art, science, and sports, while incorporating social-emotional learning and other hallmarks of the Y’s signature camp curriculum.
