The Town of Cicero got together Saturday May 1st to keep Cicero beautiful. Since 2005 Town Assessor Emo Cundari organizes Cleanup day/week with the support of Town President Larry Dominick. Many town Employees and district 99 students gathered at the public works department to suit up and boot up. Groups were formed and directed which side of the Town each group was going to help clean up. “This is our annual clean up week what we are doing this week is a week long effort for residents to be able to put out extra items in the alley and then our public works department will come around and pick them up,” said Town Assessor Emo Cundari. Please keep in mind while cleaning that, “you can throw out anything the only thing we don’t allow is building materials,” stated Assessor Cundari. “We would like to thank everyone for coming out,” said Town Chaplain Ismael Vargas. Assessor Cundari also sent a “special thanks to President Larry Dominick and his leadership in this effort always helping us out and giving us all the supplies and everything that we need to able to get this done. Also, our town board of trustees is always very supportive helping us out.” Right before the groups began cleaning up the town Chaplain Vargas said a prayer and cleanup day began. “I want to thank all of the volunteers who participated in this year’s cleanup week campaign and especially the residents who joined in to help cleanup trash and litter to beautify the community,” Cundari added.
