Congressman Jesús “Chuy ” García announced the winner of the 2021 Congressional Art Competition  representing the 4th Congressional District is Katherrin Amber Billordo, an 11th grade student at Northside College Prep High School who submitted a mixed media piece titled “Before and After.”  Her piece, which depicts a scene from before and after the COVID-19 pandemic in Chicago, will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol alongside winning artwork from students from across the United States.  “I congratulate Katherrin Amber Billordo for winning the 2021 Congressional Art Competition in our district. This has been a very difficult year for everyone. Students have been stuck at home but many, like Katherrin, developed their creativity and created art that reflects these challenging times. The winning piece, ‘Before and After’ does just that,” said Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García.  Billordo’s message to other teenagers is, “Anything is possible. Take advantage of Chicago’s resources. Don’t be afraid to try something new, go after what you’re passionate about, and go get vaccinated if you haven’t already!”
