As a part of her efforts to expand health care access for Illinoisans, state Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, is encouraging uninsured residents to sign up for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). “If you don’t have your health, you don’t have much else and too many families in Illinois go without access to quality, affordable health care,” Lilly said. “However, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, thousands of families in Illinois can access health insurance coverage at an affordable price.” Lilly is encouraging residents to enroll in a health care plan for the upcoming year if they are not already covered. The Biden administration has extended the deadline for choosing a plan from Dec. 15, 2021 to Jan. 15, 2022. In addition, President Biden’s American Rescue Plan has decreased health insurance prices paid by families and increased subsidies to make plans more affordable. To enroll in a plan or learn more information, Lilly is encouraging residents to visit HealthCare.gov.
