Chicago Public Library (CPL) announced that CPL will be encouraging children to get a library card by offering free signed copies of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s new children’s book in both English – Just Help! How to Build a Better World and Spanish – ¡Solo Ayuda! Como construir un mundo mejor. Starting February 4, at select locations, children are eligible to receive a copy of the book while supplies last by showing their library card or signing up for their first card. The book give-away is made possible thanks to generous support from Deloitte to the Chicago Public Library Foundation. Starting Friday, February 4, books will be available in English and Spanish while supplies last at the following locations:

• Legler Regional Library
• Gage Park Branch
• Chicago Lawn Branch
• Back of the Yards Branch
• South Chicago Branch
• Vodak-East Side Branch
• Lozano Branch
• Douglass Branch
• Altgeld Branch
• Humboldt Park Branch
• Richard M. Daley Branch
• Little Village Branch
• Albany Park Branch
• Rogers Park Branch

Participating children will also receive bookmarks with read-alike titles that they can take advantage of as they begin to use their library card. Chicago Public Library encourages new card holders to share photos via email to press@chipublib.org or on social media with #FirstCardFriday.
