Chicago Public Library Kicks Off Annual Summer Program

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local News

Chicago Public Library’s city-wide summer program kicked off Monday at all 81 public libraries throughout Chicago. The theme is City of Stories and Chicagoans of all ages will have opportunities to celebrate stories that explore people, community and culture and the common themes that connect us together. CPL will encourage participating kids, teens and adults to tell their stories and the stories of their communities, through the avenues of written and spoken word, art-making or digital media production. This summer, our program will include a combination of virtual and in-person events, with options for participation to suit the needs of every family. City of Stories is happening at all 81 branches of the Chicago Public Library. For more branch-specific program and event information, Chicagoans can contact or local branch location, or search by zip code on the library’s www.chipublib.org. All CPL programs and events will be available on the My Chi. My Future app, designed specifically to connect all youth with a variety of programming and many opportunities to stay busy and engaged all summer long.
