Whether you’re sending your kids to school for the first time or sending them off for another year, this compilation of Back-to-School events will help ease the stress with most of them providing health-related examinations and providing school supplies. Our Back-to-School list of events will better prepare parents for a smooth transition into the school year ahead.

Gads Hill Center: Back to School
Join Gads Hill Center as they celebrate their scholars and their return to school on August 19th from 4p.m., to 6p.m., at 1919 W. Cullerton St., where backpacks and school supplies to the children and youth of their community. Gads Hill Center is also asking the community for donations for the upcoming school year. Alderman George Cardenas: Back to School Fair
Alderman Cardenas will be hosting the annual Back to School Fair will be held on August 13th from 10a.m., to 1p.m., at McKinley Park. The fair will be providing school supplies, eye exams, immunizations, Covid-19 vaccines, entertainment, food, and refreshments. The family-friendly event is open to all and supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. All the services are free of charge, and registration is not required.

Back 2 School Kicks Chicago
The specialty footwear and lifestyle retailer, The Athlete’s Foot (TAF), is partnering with the Refugee Life Association, Youth Guidance and the Community Retail Association to host the Inaugural Back 2 School Kicks event for hundreds of students from underserved Chicago Neighborhoods. Students will be fitted for new sneakers courtesy of The Athlete’s Foot. The daytime event will also feature various athletic activities and fun activations, lunch, snacks and back to school supplies. The event will be held on August 27th from 10:30a.m., to 1:30p.m., at Gatley Stadium Indoor Track-Pullman District, 10201 S. Cottage Grove Ave.

CPS Back to School
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) hosts its annual Back-to-School Bashes across the city for students and families to connect with their school communities and prepare for the new school year that begins Monday, August 22. The next bash is on August 11th at Michele Clark HS, 5101 W. Harrison St., from 2p.m., to 5p.m.

Representative Camille Y. Lilly: Back-to-School Backpack Drive
Kids Above All will host its annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive and school supplies for school-aged children, Pre-K through 12th grade students in their programs to ensure readiness. Donations can be dropped off at Kids Above All from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through August 26th. They are located at 8765 W. Higgins Rd., Ste. 450, Chicago, IL, 60631. Kelvyn Park’s Back-to-School Fair
Free back to school items while supplies, vendors, food and activities for the kids, while supplies last. First come first serve. RSVPing to this event does not guarantee free school supplies. The Back-to-School Fair +Mercado will take place on August 13th at Kelvyn Park, 4438 W. Wrightwood Ave., from 10a.m., to 2p.m. Registration is required. Summertime Chi Back-to-School Event
Join CHICAT’s Summertime CHI: Back to School Event for a Free & Family Friendly day of fun and engaging activities, workshops on health & wellness, games, and a student led art exhibition geared towards promoting respect, understanding, and diversity.
