Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Education

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) has launched a new spending dashboard to provide the public with an easy-to-use tool showing how Illinois is using federal pandemic relief funds. The state received nearly $8 billion through three rounds of Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) funding to support students’ recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.  The dashboard, available on ISBE’s website, allows users to view funding allocations and real-time updates on spending pertaining to each of the three federal pandemic relief grants: Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act ESSER (ESSER I), Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act ESSER (ESSER II), and American Rescue Plan ESSER (ARP ESSER). Illinois has been highlighted as a national leader for its transparent and up-to-date reporting of the federal pandemic relief funds. More information on ISBE’s learning renewal programs is available on the ISBE website.
