The Chicago Teachers Union is holding a Back-2-School Summer Jam on Friday, August 18, from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. There will be music, food, games, and giveaways to students gearing up for the first day of school! This event will bring together students, parents, community organizations, educators, and elected officials who want to ensure that returning students have all they need to fill the upcoming school year with the joy of learning. Do you have kids who need school supplies or a book bag? Or a haircut? Let CTU know at ctulocal1.org/jam that you’ll be attending so they can expect you. If you have a returning student who needs a dental cleaning, please let them know when you RSVP. There will also be some staff from the Cook County Health Department at the event.
