Mayor Brandon Johnson announced that Bally’s Chicago temporary casino at Medinah Temple in River North will open its doors to the public this morning.  Bally’s Chicago’s temporary location at Medinah Temple features more than 750 slot machines and table games, three restaurants including Medinah Bistro and Kitchen 888, and a sports betting area. The casino opens at 8 a.m. and will be open seven days a week. The broader Chicago Casino project is expected to open in 2026 at the River West site at 700 W. Chicago Ave. The project is estimated to bring hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue to the City of Chicago. The permanent casino will consist of a mix of uses including a hotel, casino, theater, riverwalk, Riverfront Park and more.  Gaming revenues, specifically, will go to support Chicago’s police and fire pension funds. The Chicago Casino project will provide thousands of well-paying union jobs, new employment opportunities and training programs for City residents.
