Applications are now open for hundreds of after-school programs offered this spring through After School Matters®. Program opportunities are available for Chicago teens in the arts, communications, and leadership, sports, and STEM. Spring programs will run from February 26 – May 11. Interested teens can apply at afterschoolmatters.org. There is no cost to participate, and teens earn a stipend in their programs. Young people will learn from expert instructor mentors, developing skills they can apply to college and their future careers. A few of the exciting programs offered this spring include:

Camera Flux
Teens learn to explore their homes, communities, and fashion through photography and video. Participants are taught photography skills using both digital and analog cameras, studio equipment, and photo/video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere.

Dance For L.I.F.E. 2
Teens learn to dance while working on critical life skills that prepare them for college and their careers. Participants produce and direct a state-of-the-art final presentation that includes dance, visuals, and discussion.

Increase The Peace
Teens learn the basics of community organizing. Participants conduct three digital or independent campaigns either on community safety, mutual aid, or hosting virtual information sessions on community issues.
