Project VIDA announced the grand opening of its new Wellness Center this Saturday, May 11th, at 3501 W. 26th St. The significant grand opening celebrates Project VIDA’s continued commitment to enhancing health and wellness for underserved Chicago communities. Project VIDA is most recently known for partnering with Howard Brown Health Center in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to become the first walk-up COVID testing site in Little Village. Their original location at 2659 S Kedvale Ave has been serving the local community since 1992. The new Wellness Center offers a variety of affordable services to improve both physical and mental health. The grand opening will feature tours, fitness demos, and wellness workshops, along with food and refreshments. The facility features a dance and fitness studio, a modern gym, and therapy rooms for massage, acupuncture, and hydrotherapy. Founded in 1992, Project VIDA has expanded from HIV education to broad health services, especially for the LGBTQ+ community and those affected by HIV/AIDS.
