Triton College student Dylan Ramirez, 20, of Elmwood Park, has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Gregg Chadwick Student Service Scholarship. The statewide scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to volunteer service. Ramirez was recognized at the ICCTA Awards Banquet on June 5 in Lombard. “It was completely unexpected,” said Ramirez of receiving the award. “I was walking to my World Religions class, and I was really giddy — it just made my day. I felt very proud of myself, knowing that the work I’ve done on this campus spoke for itself.” A recent Triton College graduate and former psychology student, Ramirez is now weighing several options as he prepares to transfer to a four-year university, including a full-ride offer from one of his top schools. His scholarship will provide a $1,000 boost toward his continued education. Since enrolling at Triton, Ramirez was deeply involved on campus, holding leadership roles across multiple organizations, including president of Active Minds; vice president of service for Triton College’s Chi Zeta Chapter; president of Model Illinois Government; and vice president of Model United Nations.
