Cook County Board of Review Opens 2026 Property Tax Appeal Season

The Cook County Board of Review (CCBOR) will officially open the 2026 property tax appeal season on Monday, July 27, providing homeowners, businesses, and property owners across Cook County the opportunity to appeal their property assessments. Appeals may also be filed by attorneys or tax representatives acting on behalf of property owners. Throughout the appeal season, the Board will publish township on its website opening and closing dates, filing instructions, educational resources, and answers to frequently asked questions. Property owners are encouraged to monitor the filing calendar closely, as appeals must be submitted before their township’s filing deadline. The Board of Review also offers a variety of free resources to assist taxpayers, including:

● Community outreach events

● Assistance through the Board’s Help Desk

● Information sessions conducted throughout Cook County
