As students prepare to return to school, The Salvation Army along with the Chicago Department of Public Health, Rush University, and Ru Caring are helping families get ready with free health services, school supplies, and other resources. The event is designed to remove barriers to school readiness by providing access to health services, school supplies, nutritious food, and family support resources. The free community event will feature numerous organizations offering immunizations, back-to-school health exams, COVID vaccinations, sports physicals, along with hearing and vision exams. Parents should bring their child’s immunization record. The back-to-school health fair will take place on Saturday, July 25th at 10a.m., to 12:30p.m., at The Salvation Army Freedom Center, 825 N. Christiana Ave.
