Three Cicero Police Officers were recently promoted to Sergeant, while a Detective was recognized for outstanding service to the community. Det. Edmond Ramirez was honored with the President’s Excellence In Service Award, an honor started just this year by President Larry Dominick, recognizing exceptional work from sworn officers. It is awarded each quarter. Det. Ramirez was nominated by supervisors after a career that has led to several cases being solved. The award recognizes those who “exemplify the highest standards of service, dedication and professionalism.” Also recently honored by President Dominick are the department’s newest sergeants.  Sworn into their new positions by Police Supt. Thomas Boyle during a ceremony at Town Hall were Eduardo Diaz, Oscar Covarrubias, and Kevin Arlis. Each were recognized for their dedication, leadership and commitment to serving the community. Family members proudly pinned each new sergeant with their new badges, including a special moment when Sgt. Diaz’s badge was pinned to his uniform by his wife, Patrol Officer Violet Diaz.
