Latinos Progresando began hosting local Cermak Corridor business owners earlier this year for a series of meetings titled Tu Cermak, Tu Visión (Your Cermak, Your Vision). In the second meeting in the series, attendees received an informative overview of city-led initiatives designed to support small businesses, and many took the opportunity to share their concerns about the neighborhood — speaking not only as entrepreneurs, but as longtime Marshall Square residents. Through collaborative exercises focused on improving the corridor, participants also had the chance to connect with one another and discover the breadth of LP’s community work.
