Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Education

As After School Matters® celebrates 35 years of empowering Chicago teens, applications are now open for hundreds of fall programs across the city. The 11-week session gives teen’s opportunities to explore their interests, develop skills, build connections and earn a stipend—all at no cost to participants. Programs are available in the arts, communications and leadership, sports, and STEM. Chicago high school teens can explore opportunities and apply at afterschoolmatters.org. Teens must be Chicago residents, enrolled in high school, and at least 14 years old by September 1, 2026. Program spots fill quickly, so early applications are encouraged. As part of the process, applicants will interview with instructors to share their interests and goals.
