Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS) will bring its Windy City Housing Fair and Expo back to the community on Saturday, Oct. 17th, offering residents direct access to housing experts, financial resources and practical tools for protecting their homes and preparing for the future. The event will feature workshops covering mortgage readiness, credit building, insurance, estate planning, energy savings, down payment assistance and other key homeownership topics. The event comes during Fire Safety Month and follows a summer in which severe storms caused significant damage across the region. Registered attendees will receive a free emergency preparedness kit from State Farm, while supplies last. Those interested are encouraged to register in advance.
