Breakthrough Urban Ministries Hosts Annual Trunk Party

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsBreakthrough Urban Ministries, an organization focused on hyperlocal issues, such as education and youth development, health and wellness, violence prevention, and housing, hosted their eighth annual Trunk Party, on August 2nd, providing over 100 students with an array of school essentials to help them to thrive in their first year of college. Everything from first aid kits, to bedroom sheets, to towels, to even gift baskets with positive messages provided by one of the sponsor Tampico, where gifted to students. “It’s amazing to see these young students take that next step,” said Myisha McGee, Post-Secondary High School Director. “It can be financially challenging for families to provide all the necessities for college students so we are here to alleviate that stress and send-off our students on a high-note.” If you would like to learn more about the services provided at Breakthrough Urban Ministries, visit www.breakthrough.org.
