Join the National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA), 1852 W. 19th St., for the annual Festival del Arte Popular through October 19th. Meet some of Mexico’s finest folk artists, watch demonstrations led by the artists themselves, and take home a piece of Mexico’s beautiful artesania. Come and experience a piece of Mexico right here in Chicago. This year, NMMA is excited to welcome:

• Daniel Paredes & Maria Fernanda Rosales Ruiz (Puebla), ceramic Day of the Dead figures, nicho boxes, and more

• Jacobo Ángeles Ojeda (Oaxaca), wood carvings

• Audias & Mariana Roldan (Guerrero), amate paintings

• Pedro Montaño Lorenzo (Oaxaca), foot pedal loom weaving

• Mildre Ramirez, (Yucatán), Yucatecan embroidery and traditional textiles

• Brittani Walker, (Guanajuato), papier mache figures
