Clerk Monica Gordon Urges Chicago Bears to Consider Country Club Hills for Future Stadium Development

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Business

As the Chicago Bears evaluate potential sites for a future stadium, Cook County Clerk Monica Gordon is calling on the organization to consider a compelling opportunity located within Cook County in the south suburban community of Country Club Hills. A lifelong Chicago Bears fan, Clerk Gordon expressed concern over reports that the franchise may consider relocating outside of Illinois, including to Northwest Indiana. She emphasized that a viable, forward-looking alternative exists closer to home—one that offers strategic location, strong infrastructure, and transformative economic potential. Prior to her election as Clerk, Gordon served as Cook County Commissioner for the 5th District in the Southland, which includes Country Club Hills. She first presented this recommendation to the Bears organization in 2023 and believes this moment presents an important opportunity to revisit the proposal. Country Club Hills is located within a 30-mile radius of downtown Chicago, Joliet, the Illinois-Indiana border, and Midway International Airport. The area sits at the crossroads of major transportation routes, offering exceptional regional connectivity.
