A reminder from Chicago Public Schools (CPS) as the deadline approaches for individuals interested in running for Local School Councils (LSC). There is less than a week left for parents, students, and community members to file their candidacy for the 2026 LSC elections. These councils give you a direct seat at the table to approve school budgets, set academic plans, and even select your school’s principal. The District will hold LSC elections on March 18, 2026. Prospective candidates must submit their completed paperwork by Tuesday, January 20, at 3 p.m. to be eligible.
