Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Health

National Alliance on Mental Illness is introducing the Next Gen Minds Youth and Young Adult Workgroup and Advisory Board. Next Gen Minds is a statewide initiative from NAMI Illinois focused on engaging youth and young adults ages 14 to 30 in shaping the future of mental health advocacy. Age groups include:

High School – ages 14-17

Emerging Adults – ages 18-22

Young Professionals – ages 23-30

Through inclusive, youth driven workgroups, participants build leadership skills, engage in meaningful dialogue, and lead projects that make a tangible impact, including NAMI’s Grabbing the Aux podcast. The group is open to all Illinois youth and young adults within the age range who have a passion for mental wellness, advocacy, stigma reduction, and supportive communities. NAMI is actively growing this statewide community of young leaders, and NAMI’s first meetings start this month. If you or someone you know is passionate about mental health and interested in getting involved, please contact nextgenminds@namiillinois.org for information on how to register.
