Commissioner Aguilar of Cook County’s 16th District released his annual State of the District report. The report, an eight page magazine newsletter, details Commissioner Aguilar and Cook County’s support for economic, environmental, community, and infrastructure initiatives, along with his accomplishments over the last year and beyond. This State of the District documents a variety of accomplishments, including economic support, infrastructure spending, legislative actions, and more. The report begins with a letter from Commissioner Aguilar to the 16th District on page two. Page four documents infrastructure investment, including funding through the Invest in Cook and Build Up Cook grant programs. On page seven, the document goes over three of Commissioner Aguilar’s top accomplishments: working with the County Board to support medical debt relief for residents, delivering FEMA aid to homeowners who suffered damages from the major storms in the summer of 2023, and being the lead sponsor and initiator for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office to receive their first helicopter.
