Chicago Public Schools (CPS) crossing guards support our communities every day, and now is the best time to give back with a show of love and appreciation for your favorite crossing guard. This is the final week to nominate your local school crossing guard for the District’s annual Crossing Guard of the Year award program. Nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. this Friday, April 17th.  Chicagoans, including students, school leaders, and families, are encouraged to participate in the nomination process. Nominees will be evaluated based on factors such as years of service and attendance, among other criteria, and four winners will be named. Nominations can be submitted online at cps.edu/campaigns/crossing-guard-awards. Winners will be celebrated at an event in May.
