A Chicago teenager is facing a charge of first-degree murder because of a shooting investigation by the Cicero Police Department. The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on April 14 in the 5000 block of 32nd Place in Cicero. There, police found Ruben Alcazar Jr., 32, of Chicago, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died. Following a thorough investigation, Cicero detectives identified a 16-year-old from Chicago as the suspect. He was arrested without incident on Wednesday, as he exited a hotel in the 6800 block of South Cicero Avenue in Bedford Park. The investigation remains ongoing. The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved prosecuting the teenager as an adult and he appeared in court on Friday, where he was ordered to remain in custody. Investigators determined the shooting was the result of an isolated dispute and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
