Chicago’s longest-running comic and pop culture convention, Fan Expo Chicago added Mel Gibson to its roster for this year’s show. Mel Gibson exploded onto the global stage playing the title character in the iconic 1979 Australian New Wave Mad Max, before transitioning to Hollywood stardom in the 1980s and 90s with blockbusters including the Lethal Weapon series, Ransom, and What Women Want. With Braveheart, he moved seamlessly into directing and producing, cementing his reputation behind the camera with The Passion of the Christ, Apocalypto, and World War II drama Hacksaw Ridge.
