El Grito Chicago, the city’s premiere celebration of Mexican culture, heritage, and community, is officially returning to Grant Park for a full weekend on Saturday, September 12th and Sunday, September 13th, 2026. After pausing in 2025 out of respect for the safety and well-being of the community, organizers are bringing the festival back with renewed energy, strengthened safety infrastructure, a stronger team, and the same unbreakable sense of pride and purpose that has defined El Grito Chicago as a cornerstone of Chicago’s cultural identity and a powerful testament to the resilience of the Mexican community in Chicago.
