Latino Art Beat Co-Hosts Cuban Delegation Chicago Visit

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - Local NewsDuring a recent June 11th and 12th visit to Chicago, Cuban Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Cuba the Honorable Ambassador Tanieris Dieguez and Mr. Adrian Heredia Machado toured several local institutions including, the Study of Ancient Cultures Museum, ISAC (formerly the Oriental Institute) of the University of Chicago, Northeastern Illinois University and the world-renowned Ensemble Español, and the Roseland Community Hospital. The tour was organized and led by Latino Art Beat President and CEO Don Rossi Nuccio and Latino Art Beat Advisory Board Member, David Rodriguez. The purpose of the visit was to highlight the important relationship between Americans and Cubans as well as highlight the ongoing effects of the U.S. blockade of oil and the vital necessities for the Cuban people. The tour culminated with a one-on-one session at The Local Flour Stand Café in Berwyn, IL with Rossi Nuccio and the Cuban delegation discussing the success of the trip and future plans.
