United State Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) President Dr. Juan Andrade was presented a Drum Major for Justice Community Activist Award at the National Convention of the American Federation of Teachers in Washington, DC, on July 17th. He was recommended for the award by the AFT Executive Council Committee on Human Rights and Community Engagement. The award “honors those advocacy and activism embody the very best of our movement.” USHLI is a nationally recognized, Chicago-based organization dedicated to empowering communities through education, leadership development, civic engagement, and research.
