Oak Street Health Serves as Warming Centers for the Elderly

Bitter cold temperatures pose a serious threat to health and safety for older adults. In response to forecasted over night freezing temperatures Oak Street Health community centers will serve as warming centers for older adults to ensure that seniors are safe, warm and have access to resources and medical services.

Through Friday, January 9th, from 9am to 5pm all seven Oak Street Health community centers in Portage Park, Edgewater, Bronzeville, Ashburn, Avalon Park, Berwyn and Blue Island will be open to all seniors as warming centers offering free coffee, hot chocolate, tea and entertainment for seniors.
