Rush Medical Center Goes Bald to Fight Childhood Cancer

Members of the Rush Community had their heads shaved to help the St. Baldrick’s Foundation raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer research on March 18th at Rush University Medical Center at 1650 W. Harrison St. Rush’s annual participation in St. Baldrick’s Day raises money that will be donated to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides more pediatric cancer research funding than any organization except the U.S. government. A total of 49 heads were shaved last Wednesday, nearly all Rush University students from their college of nursing, graduate school, college of health sciences, and Rush medical college participated. Nearly $28,000 was raised.
