St. Rita junior band member, Jack Gardner (Orland Park – Palos South Middle School) was selected to represent District 1 in the Illinois High School Honor Band and Jazz Band by the Illinois Music Educators Association (IMEA). This marks the first time in St. Rita history that one of its students has been selected for two ensembles at the IMEA auditions. Jack will be performing in a concert with the other selected students in November. He will be playing the tuba for the concert band and the electric bass for the jazz band.
