Peoples Gas Urges Customers to Apply for Assistance

Lawndale News Chicago's Bilingual Newspaper - BusinessPeople Gas wants to let their customers know about a number of resources available for those who are struggling financially to pay their energy bills. Beginning this month, LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is open to all eligible customers. The program provides grants to help customers pay outstanding bills, reconnect natural gas service, and maintain their home’s service.

The PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan) is another resource that is available for customers who qualify. PIPP creates a payment plan option for low-income customers to pay an affordable amount each month for their natural gas and electricity, caps the amount those customers pay for utilities, and expands an energy-efficiency program. To apply and find the location of the closest application site, People Gas customers can call CEDA’s hotline at 800-571-2332 or visit www.cedaorg.net. Customers can also visit www.peoplesgasdelivery.com for a list of application sites and guidelines.
